Images of Madonnas inspired by Rafaello Sanzio were burned on black and red canvases using sunlight. The works are a development of the series 'Broken Images'. The classical image of the Madonna as a symbol of the fullness of christian-european civilization was affected by a primordial, solar force.

Sunlight destroyed the pigments in the canvas and at the same time fixated the image, which causes the question of the nature of this process as an act of destruction or creation.
